BACKGROUND: Nobel Laureate Dr. R.K. Pachauri, Chairman of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will brief Senators on the latest science on Global Warming. Dr. Pachauri was elected as chair of the IPCC in April 2002, and accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on its behalf on December 10, 2007.
