WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), released the following statement on the Council on Environmental Quality’s (CEQ) proposed National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidance on the consideration of greenhouse gas emissions.

“The Trump administration is providing important clarity to states and businesses,” said Barrasso. “This proposed guidance will help ensure that major energy projects in Wyoming and across the country can move forward without needless delays and litigation. I look forward to reviewing the guidance and working with President Trump to implement it.”

Background Information:

On March 28, 2017, Barrasso issued a statement in support of President Trump’s Executive Order on Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth which withdrew the prior administration’s guidance related to greenhouse gases issued on August 1, 2016.
