WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), praised the Senate’s vote to confirm the nomination of Andrew Wheeler to be deputy administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Senate voted 53 to 45 to confirm Wheeler.

“Andrew Wheeler is well-qualified for the critically important role of deputy administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency,” said Barrasso. “His wealth of experience at the EPA, on Capitol Hill, and in the private sector have prepared him for this leadership position. Now that the Senate has confirmed Mr. Wheeler, he can get to work advancing policies to protect America’s air, land, water, and communities.”
