Washington, DC
U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, made the following statement regarding President Obama's promise to "cut through the red tape, break through the bureaucratic hurdles, and make [Keystone XL pipeline] a priority, to go ahead and get it done" one year ago in Cushing, Oklahoma:
"What will it take for the President to follow through on his promise to the American people to make the Keystone XL pipeline happen?" Vitter asked. "The President has had a full year to ‘cut through the red tape,' yet we're still waiting for action. We cannot keep the American people waiting for good-paying jobs and lower gas prices when it is reasonably within grasp."
