"EPA appears intent on ignoring the Clean Water Act's statutory limits and transparency requirements for new stormwater discharge regulations, and now their attempts to expand their authority are interfering with land use decisions made by the military," wrote the Senators. "This is absolutely unacceptable, and poses significant consequences for the military and the nation's economic well-being."
In the letter, the Senators request information relating to EPA's recent decision to restrict post-construction stormwater discharges at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado and Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, as well as information relating to the Agency's proposed "waters of the United States" rule, which would expand federal CWA jurisdiction.
Signing today's letter include Sens. Vitter, Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), John Boozman (R-Miss.), and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.).
