Washington, D.C. - Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, welcomed the growing coalition of small businesses, farmers, and manufacturers supporting the Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011 (Upton-Inhofe). With the House vote on the bill tomorrow, Inhofe released the following statement:
"A growing number of groups representing workers across all sectors of the economy are supporting the Upton-Inhofe bill," Sen. Inhofe said. "And for good reason: they see their jobs and their livelihoods at risk, as EPA continues to implement its costly cap-and-trade agenda. That agenda will raise their gasoline, diesel, and electricity bills, and potentially put them out of work. So with the House poised to vote tomorrow, the Senate will hopefully follow suit. And senators will soon face a fundamental choice: stand with farmers and manufacturers, and the jobs they want to create, or stand with EPA's cap-and-trade regulations, which threaten their futures and the economy's growth and expansion."
