WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), released the following statement on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt.
“Under President Trump, the EPA has returned to its original mission of protecting America’s air, water, and land,” said Barrasso. “During Administrator Pruitt’s tenure, the agency has rolled back punishing regulations that were hurting American workers and stifling our economy.
“It has become increasingly challenging for the EPA to carry out its mission with the administrator under investigation. President Trump made the right decision to accept his resignation.
“I look forward to the confirmation of the next head of the EPA. In the meantime, I know Deputy Administrator Andrew Wheeler is well prepared to continue the progress already made under President Trump.”
