Statement of Senate Jim Jeffords, I-Vt.
Ranking Member, Senate Environment and Public Works Committee
On Keystone Center's ESA Letter
"I appreciate the work that The Keystone Center has done so far as it relates to efforts to update the Endangered Species Act. The ESA has had a long and successful history, and as the Keystone group noted, it presents complex issues. The Keystone Center’s letter points out the fact that consensus will be difficult. We must work in a very thoughtful and deliberate manner as the Senate reviews the ESA. I look forward to working with my colleagues and I eagerly await the Keystone Center's final report later this month. Its input will be critical to this process."
