Environmental Justice and Toxic Waste Issues in Northern California 

BACKGROUND:
U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, will convene a field briefing to examine issues of environmental justice related to toxic waste sites in Northern California. Senator Boxer will be joined by U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA 9th) and will hear statement from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Bay Area community leaders, and other experts on environmental justice and the impacts of toxic waste.
