Washington, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation (TRAIN) Act (H.R.2401), legislation that would have devastating impacts on the health of children and families nationwide. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, issued the following statement:

Senator Boxer said: "Today, the House passed H.R. 2401, the TRAIN Act, which would obstruct EPA's process of setting new health standards -- delaying life-saving protections. Let me be clear: this is a train we must stop. I will do everything I can to block the rollbacks being pushed by House Republicans and polluters."

Earlier this week, Senator Boxer held a press conference with public health experts and a family that has been affected by asthma to stress the importance of defending the Clean Air Act from attacks, such as the TRAIN Act.
