Washington, D.C. - On Thursday, May 9 at 9:15 a.m., Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Committee on Environment and Public Works, will hold a full committee business meeting to consider the nomination of Gina McCarthy to be Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The business meeting will be held in 406 Dirksen Senate Office Building.
The EPW Committee held Gina McCarthy's nomination hearing on April 11. Gina McCarthy, who currently serves as the Assistant Administrator for EPA's Office of Air and Radiation, has responded to all of the questions submitted by members of the EPW Committee, including over 1,000 questions submitted by Republicans on the Committee.
Senator Boxer said: "Gina McCarthy is a strong, bipartisan candidate and is the right person for the job at this critical time. The EPW Committee's business meeting is an important step forward in the confirmation process."
