Washington, D.C. -- Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, issued the following statement after the Senate Finance Committee approved a plan for a funding patch for the Highway Trust Fund.
Senator Boxer said: "I am really grateful that there was bipartisan support in the Finance Committee for a shorter-term patch for the Highway Trust Fund. We still have an opportunity to pass a long-term bill this year, and I will pursue a December deadline so this Congress is forced to deal with solving the transportation crisis that we face in the Highway Trust Fund."
