Next week (April 23-27, 2007) the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold two hearings:
 
On Tuesday, April 24, at 9:45 a.m. EDT, the EPW Committee on will conduct a hearing entitled, “The Implications of the Supreme Court’s Decision Regarding EPA’s Authorities with Respect to Greenhouse Gases under the Clean Air Act” to examine actions EPA could take in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in Massachusetts v. EPA.  The hearing will take place in the EPW Hearing Room, SD-406 in the Dirksen Senate Office Building. In addition to EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson, witnesses will include former EPA Administrators William K. Reilly and Carol M. Browner, as well as Ann Klee, former EPA General Counsel;  Peter Glaser, Clean Air Attorney and Partner, Troutman Sanders, LLP; and David Doniger, policy director of the Natural Resource Defense Council’s Climate Center.
 
On Wednesday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, the Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear Safety will conduct a hearing entitled “Oversight Hearing on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission,” and will receive testimony from NRC Chairman Dale Klein and other members of the Commission.  The hearing will take place in the EPW Hearing Room, SD-406 in the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
