BACKGROUND:                   The Committee on Environment and Public Works will convene a full committee hearing Tuesday to examine the current state of science concerning the health effects of asbestos and potential actions to address those impacts. Witnesses will include Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and national experts on asbestos and public health.
