Tom Carper (D-DE), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and Bob Casey (D-PA) in introducing S. 512, the Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernization Act (NEIMA).

In 2016, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, joined Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) in introducing S. 2795, Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernization Act, a bill to modernize the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) by establishing new transparency and accountability measures to the NRC’s budget and fee programs as well as to develop the regulatory framework necessary to enable the licensing of advanced nuclear reactors.
