WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, released a new report as part of the committee’s ongoing oversight of the Democrats’ $1.6 trillion Inflation Reduction Act.

The report is titled, “Investment in Radical Activists: A Case Study on the NDN Collective Supported by the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act,” and highlights the anti-American statements and positions from the NDN Collective, a radical activist group that is set to administer $100 million in taxpayer money from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

“In our oversight of the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, we’ve found over and over again that the law is quietly bankrolling extremist groups like the NDN Collective that openly advocate for anti-American, anti-police, and anti-Semitic causes, which have nothing to do with protecting the environment,” Ranking Member Capito said. “The American people deserve to know the truth about how the Biden administration is spending their money, and we will continue to follow where that money goes, exposing the indefensible positions held by the groups that are benefiting along the way.”

The full report can be accessed here.

In December 2023, the EPA announced the NDN Collective as a partner group to help administer two grants of $50 million each, which can be found here on page 3 and page 8.

The NDN Collective has stated as official positions, among many others:

  • “We do support defunding the police and U.S. military”
  • The United States is a “so-called country” and an “enemy” that must be held “accountable”
  •  “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free”

OTHER RADICAL GROUPS BENEFITING FROM THE IRA PREVIOUSLY EXPOSED BY RANKING MEMBER CAPITO:

  • On May 21, Ranking Member Capito highlighted the anti-Semitic, pro-Hamas group, Climate Justice Alliance, which the EPA has announced is set to receive $50 million from the IRA.
  • The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board wrote more about the group here.

  • On June 12, Ranking Member Capito highlighted two radical anti-borders, anti-ICE, and anti-police groups, the “New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice” and “New York Immigration Coalition,” which the EPA has announced is set to help administer $50 million from the IRA.
