Washington, D.C. -- Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, responded with the statement below to the introduction of the Udall-Vitter toxics bill.
Senator Boxer said: "I have reviewed this bill with leading experts who understand the safeguards that are needed to address the health threats posed by toxic chemicals. It is clear that in its present form, this bill fails to provide the protections needed and is worse than current law. This is especially disappointing when the price will be paid by our children and families."
