"It's hard to believe that the Senate Committee with primary jurisdiction over EPA has given the biggest case of fraud in EPA's history such short shrift," the Senators wrote. "To fulfill our oversight function, it is our responsibility to press agency officials for answers surrounding John Beale's fraud. We must investigate what they knew, when they knew it, and how they responded."
During the January 16, 2014 full EPW Committee hearing with EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, she agreed to return before the Committee for a hearing on how EPA officials managed Beale before and after his fraud was discovered.
