Next week (February 12-16, 2007) the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold two full-committee hearings.
· On Tuesday, February 13, at 10:00 AM EST, the full Committee on Environment and Public Works will conduct a hearing on the U.S. Climate Action Partnership’s report, "A Call to Action." The purpose of the hearing is to review the recommendations of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, a group of leading businesses and environmental organizations that have come together to call on the federal government to quickly enact strong national legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Tuesday’s expected witnesses are Chad Holliday, Chairman & CEO, DuPont; Jonathan Lash, President, World Resources Institute; Peter Darbee, Chairman, CEO & President of PG&E Corporation; Steve Elbert, Vice Chair, BP America; Kevin Book, Senior Analyst/Vice President, Friedman Billings Ramsey & Company, Inc.; Fred L. Smith Jr., President, Competitive Enterprise Institute; and Harold G. Hamm, Chairman and CEO, Continental Resources, Inc.
· On Thursday, February 15, at 10:00 AM EST, the full Committee on Environment and Public Works will conduct a hearing on the President’s Proposed Environmental Protection Agency Budget for FY 2008. The sole witness on Thursday will be EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson.
Both hearings will take place in the EPW Hearing Room, SD-406 in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, and will be webcast through the Committee website, .
