PETA, a known animal rights organization, has been tied as a source of funding to both the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), two domestic terrorist organizations. [http://epw.senate.gov/hearing_statements.cfm?id=247266 ]
Senator Inhofe held two hearings pertaining to both animal and environmental terrorism.

AETA was co-sponsored in the Senate by Senators Inhofe and Feinstein, and was drafted with technical assistance from counter-terror experts at the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
