Boxer Statement on Global Warming Proposal
by Senators Warner, Landrieu, Lincoln and Graham


Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today made the following remarks on the proposal unveiled today by Senators Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and John Warner (R-Va.) to manage a cap-and-trade program for global warming pollution:

Senator Boxer said: “The development of a new, bipartisan approach for managing a global warming pollution control program makes an important contribution to the debate, and contains good concepts. I am looking forward to carefully considering the details of the proposal as we work together to craft comprehensive global warming legislation.”
